Antique Kimono Haori Jacket - Peony Cart & Stars/ Cherry Red Damask eyewear -1840s-1890s1940s 1950s, Japan A beautiful piece from Showa era Japan, this kimono jacket of crisp, tailoring silk is masterfully woven with patterns of carts overflowing with large peonies, joined by traditional motifs of fading stars. The contrast between the gorgeous black cherry damask silk and the scarlet sheen of the underlying pattern is best showcased as the dramatic piece moves through light. Lined in a silk with designs of pink chrysanthemum flowers.
