12本の縦筋をいれた瓜形の胴部には、細長い注口と、平紐状の把手が付いています。紐などを結んで使用するために蓋と把手には環が付いています。この形の水注はよく煎茶の掛け軸等で描かれています。

時代を経て枯れた木味、虫食い、亀裂も、魅力的な佇まいです。

現在でも、その用途は不明で、推測の域を出るものはありません。
