Early bentwood chair by Mundus picnic and one of the mostThis is an early bentwood chair made from beech by Mundus in Czechoslovakia. Mundus merged with the Kohn brothers in 1914 and Thonet in 1923, so this chair was made sometime before 1914 as it's marked just Mundus. This piece has a wonderfully deep, chocolatey patina all over and the peacock feathers like pattern on the seat is still very much visible this chair has obviously had an easy life considering its age.
