Framed Fine Antique 18th Century Sampler Dated & Signed : English ca.1784 Folk Art Embroidery Measurements: 20An antique sampler worked by Penelope Forrest, aged 11 in the year 1784. Hand embroidered mainly in cross stitch onto a fine hand loomed linen ground. The sampler has the familiar elements, the alphabet, numerals and religious phrases but the work is particularly fine and remarkably small in scale. Included with the sampler is the original paper wrapping which reads A sampler worked by my beloved and blessed mother in 1784 in the 11th year of her age
