The panel was designed for the International Exhibition of Modern and Decorative Art held in Turin in 1902. Macintosh and his wife Margaret Macdonald contributed an exquisite interior called The Rose Boudoir which incorporated this panel and a partner piece which is now in the Hamburg Museum of Arts and Crafts. This panel was displayed at the Hunterian
